As Mayor of Washington, DC, it is my sincere pleasure to extend congratulations to Chandrai Jackson-Saunders for being honored by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) with the National School Psychologist of the Year Award.

Your selection as the School Psychologist of the Year reflects your dedication to the education, mental, and emotional well-being of children and youth. As a native Washingtonian, this recognition is especially significant because you have been teaching and counseling students in DC Public Schools for an impressive and productive thirty-three years.

Your decades of service demonstrate your exceptional commitment to our youth and their families. Because of you, students who experience difficulty with school or home life, have found support, safety, and the resources necessary to overcome their struggles and to succeed.

On behalf of the 706,000 residents of Washington, DC, and especially on behalf of our youth, I thank you for your uncommon kindness, empathy, and professionalism in the service of children and congratulate you for this extraordinary honor. I wish you continued success in all your future endeavors.
